New for 2025!! Open & Youth 3D Slot Races

An Open 3D Slot Race and Youth 3D Slot Race will be featured events this year! Each slot race is limited to 75 entries. Books will close with the 1st runner or when all slots are filled. Entries in the slot races will include the run carrying into the respective day's Open 5D. You may also choose to carry your run into the respective day's AQHA classes!

American Qualifier Race

Entry Deadline for the American Qualifier Race will be 5pm on September 22nd. All American entries must be done online at the BBR website. Please visit BetterBarrelRaces.com for entry and details. American Qualifier online entries will INCLUDE the processing fee and entry into the Saturday Open 5D (your time from the American will carry over).

Rider Sidepots

Age based rider sidepots are available for each day's Open 5D race. Groups include Youth (15U), Adult (16-49) and Senior (50+) and are based on the rider's age as of January 1st of this year. Entries will be accepted until your first run of the respective day's Open 5D race.

Open 5D Races &
AQHA Classes

Entry Postmark Deadline for the AQHA and Open 5D races is September 5th. No late entries will be accepted for the AQHA classes. Open 5D entries will be accepted with a late fee until the first runner of each day's race. Contestants may choose to carry their time from the AQHA classes into each day's Open 5D race and entries in the Open Slot Race, American Qualifier and Youth Slot Race can be carried into the AQHA classes!

Open Aggregate

Open Aggregate sidepots are available to Open 5D contestants entering at least 2 of the Open 5D races. Aggregate times will be based on the fastest 2 of your possible 3 Open 5D runs. Entries will be accepted before your first Open 5D run (including carryovers).

BBR X-Tra Sidepot

BBR X-Tra Sidepot entries will be accepted until the first runner of the Sunday Open 5D race. Current BBR membership is required and participants will receive DOUBLE POINTS for each days race AND the X-Tra Sidepot!

Futurity Sidepots

Futurity sidepots are available to futurity eligible horses competing in the Saturday and Sunday Open 5D Races. Entries will be accepted until your first run of the respective day's Open 5D race.
